Going Away Party for Saylie!

So...my sister and brother-in-law moved out of state and much to my dismay they took my niece(their daughter) with them. The last day they were here in Virginia I decided to take Saylie to Frying Pan Park to show her the animals and have one last bit of crazy fun with her before our hang sessions get more and more staggered.

Saylie always surprises me with how fearless she is. Not once was she ever scared. With each new animal she saw she'd get more excited and greet them with a smile and a wave.
I couldn't get enough of her on her tip toes. So cute to see her use them to get a better view!

Grandma came with and thank goodness she did, there's no way I could've helped Saylie stand on the bench, feed the cows and goats, while hanging over the stall's like I did to get the good shots.

Here's one awesome shot I couldn't have gotten without Grandma...

Here are a few more sweet ones of my sweet Saylie bug.
I can't look at this last one and not smile...EVER!

Talk About Style!

I love when people let their own personal style determine and steer the style of their session. That's when you get the goods! I love this series from Elisa & Danny's session! I just can't get enough of them.

Miss Anna Simone!

Watch out world here comes Miss Anna Simone! First off, is that a name or is that a name? Anna Simone. I just love it. This photo shoot was so fun!!!! Anna was looking for some head shots to help her further her career in Musical Theater. We found some good spots around town and easily had dozens of great images in just a few minutes.

She was such a natural and had such a fun personality the shoot quickly took some of my favorite turns...the ones where I can let my imagination run wild and try new funky things....like a mini top hat I've been obsessing over for awhile now.

...also maybe a pettiskirt...
...a vintage chair or corduroy fedora...
and she rocked them all!!
Here's her celebratory jump that the shoot was finally over!! She was such a great sport posing it up for hours in the freezing cold. Thanks Anna what a fun shoot!

Cherry Blossoms and True Love

It must be spring because there is some serious love in the air! This was a busy weekend for engagement shoots starting with a sunrise session in DC to capture the cherry Blossoms and monuments in the best light with the fewest amount of people. The shoot went great minus a few breaks we took due to rain...but you'd never know. Shortly after was a shoot at the Beautiful Historic Airlie Homestead.

I thought moving pictures would be most appropriate to showcases these shoots...it helps create the "mood" : ) So just sit back, relax, and try to catch their spring fever.

The Newsie!

I was so excited to finally use my Newsie hat and bowtie! Michael was the perfect model, hardly fussing at all throughout the 2 hours or so we were shooting! Such a sweet little man.

Saylie Bear Turns 1!!

I can't believe it's been a year since I took this picture of my little Say Say!

Last week we stuffed ourselves with fruity pebble treats, Cheddar Goldfish, mini PB&J sandwiches, and cupcakes galore celebrating my nieces 1st birthday in style. No 1st birthday party is complete without letting the birthday babe go hog wild on their own cake...am I right? So true to the birthday tradition we set her cake in front of her and let her have at it!

Don't worry...we got to that hand before it got to the flame...I promise!

She ate up that cake...and all the attention!
The party went off without a hitch...except for this choking incident but look how advanced she is, instinctively beginning to show the universal sign for choking! She's a genius! : )
Happy Birthday my sweet Say Bear!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU!
